Again!!!

I guess the fact we've been telling Maura that she is a fantastic artist is now without question.  For the 3rd year she has been awarded Best of Show by Watercolor Artists of Sacramento Horizons, WASH, this time in their member only show.

Earlier this year her picture, Family Vacation, was included in the juried 47th National Exhibition of the California Watercolor Association.

Best of Show

For the second year in a row one of Maura's paintings has been named Best of Show in the Wash Open Show at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center!!!!  The competition was tough as you can see from the Gallery of Award Winners. 

Maura was surprised at the win, but those of us who are her "biggest fans" just say finally everyone is noticing her wonderful work.  She has added more pictures to her blog, check it out.

Fun Finds

Another fun Madden blog is that of Cartoonist and Author Matt Madden.  Unfortunately the last post to Matt Madden's Blog was in Feb of 2014, but it is worth a few minutes to see what is there.  Matt's profile on Google + states he lives in Paris and attended University of Texas at Austin.  Check out his cool 20 lines project!

While my ultimate goal is to publish my family genealogy on this blog I also continue to explore other other Madden families.

Maura Madden Donovan Watercolors

For years family members have enjoyed the bounty of my sister Maura's wonderful watercolors. We

knew she should be showing and selling her workand often urged her to do so.....but at the same time happily accepted new offerings to grace our walls.

This spring Maura finally created a blog highlighting some of her works.  Maura Madden Donovan Watercolors.

This month she had works accepted in two juried shows in Sacramento and has won a Special Award at the Wash, Inc Open Show at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center.
