Both Keenan and Haffey researchers give Montague as the name of early wives. In fact they suggest that John Keenan's wife Eleanor was a Montague and that her sister was the mother of John Haffey.
To date proof of the name nor the connection hasn't been found and the fact that John Haffey was supposedly from Armagh and the Keenans were from Aghaloo, Tyrone makes finding proof imperative before accepting the connection.
