Notes:

The first records with the surname Schlagngaul are baptisms of the children of Georg.  Until that time the family was just referred  to as Schmids and Farbers on Ausham.  Once the name did come into use it was often written  Bchlangngual .

The wife of Bartholomeus was variously listed as Agnes Schmidtochter and Maria.  The only marriage is for Agnes and the only death record is Maria in 1686.  Viet's birth and marriage both list his mother as Maria, it is possible that Agnes is a separate person and not Viet's mother. I decided to put Agnes's family in here as this is an example of families before set surnames and also because I was intrigued with her father's and grandfather's names.
